Learn to Fly - Introduction to Arm Balances Workshop
When: May 11 2019, 3:00-5:00pm
Where: The Yoga Sanctuary, 1 Wood Street, Toronto

Arm balances are great for building strength, balance, body awareness, and bringing some playfulness into your practice. Contrary to popular belief, arm balances do not solely rely on upper body strength, rather on learning to shift your weight and consciously activating the core, legs and feet.

This 2-hour workshop will focus working on foundations for arm balance poses and provide you with the tools to safely move into arm balances with confidence and ease. After a warm-up practice, we will break down several arm balance poses into simple building blocks.

Be ready to be challenged. Everybody can participate on their own personalized level.

All you need to bring is a playful attitude!

Class size is limited. Please enrol early to secure your place. Please arrive 15 minutes before class to check-in.

Introduction To Budokon Yoga


Budokon Yoga is a dynamic style of yoga developed by Kancho Cameron Shayne as a fusion of yoga, martial arts, calisthenics, and animal locomotion. The foundation of this style is the Budokon Yoga Primary Series, which consists of 7 intelligently assembled sections of slow and controlled movements. The Budokon practice is a seamless, transition-based yoga flow that combines traditional yoga asanas with innovative Budokon movements and transitions. During this workshop, Shaun will introduce you to the Budokon primary series and explore movements related to the series. Experience something new and join Shaun for a unique and powerful Yoga practice that aims to improve mobility, agility, strength, and cardiovascular stamina.

BUDOKON YOGA AND MUAY THAI FOR WARRIORS 

August 25, 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm
 at Warrior Muay Thai (68 Railside Rd b, North York, ON M3A 3P8)

This event is in cooperation with culturetoronto and includes a 2-hour session of Budokon Yoga, followed by an 1-hour session of Muay Thai. I will be leading the Budokon Yoga session and culturetoronto's Sherif Badr, founder of the Muay Thai program at UofT, will be leading the Muay Thai session. 

Budokon Yoga is a dynamic yoga style that was developed by Kancho Cameron Shayne as a fusion of yoga, martial arts, Zen meditation, calisthenics
, and the study of animal movement (animal locomotion). The Budokon practice is a seamless, transition-based yoga flow that combines traditional yoga positions with innovative Budokon movements and transitions. During this event, I will introduce you to the Budokon primary series and we will explore movements from yoga, calisthenics, mobility, and animal locomotion related to the series. The primary series consists of 7 intelligently assembled sections of slow and controlled movements. Join me for a unique and powerful Yoga practice that improves mobility, agility, strength, flexibility, and stamina for both new practitioners and professional athletes. 

All levels of fitness and experience are welcome!

Join me for an all-levels Reduced Heat class raising donations for Covenant House Toronto!

The University of Toronto Medicine Class of 2021 elected Covenant House Toronto as their class charity, and has spent this year organizing and running various events to support this organization. Covenant House is Canada’s largest agency serving at-risk, homeless and trafficked youth. The funds raised from this event will help support the services they provide, including crisis sheltering, education, counselling and health care. For more information about this organization, please visit www.covenanthousetoronto.ca/
